What are fiberglass insulated cables

Fiberglass cables are designed to ensure constant performance in the presence of high temperatures and mechanical stress.

To ensure high thermal resistance, conductors are selected based on the required operating temperatures, maintaining high standards of safety and reliability. The electrical insulation is mainly composed of a PTFE tape, which ensures excellent thermal protection and effective electrical insulation.

A fiberglass braid (Type E or R), impregnated with a specific resin, is applied over the PTFE tape, making the coating uniform, compact, and resistant over time. For particularly demanding applications, electric cables with fiberglass insulation can be further protected by metallic braids that increase resistance to abrasion and mechanical stress.
